9th June 2010 - Linzhou, China - Day 7 - Task Cancelled due to rain on take-off

It is raining here in Linzhou and we have just received news that it is raining on take-off as well so today's task has been cancelled. That means we have reached the end of the competition here in China.

Yesterday's overall results are, therefore, the final results for Linhou.

Event 3 (China) Overall Winner is Andrey Eliseev (Russia / Kentz)

our Female Winner is Orlane Sturbois (France / La Plagne)

and our winning team for Event 3 (China) is Yasushi Kobayashi, Seyong Jung, Christine Métais and Gin Seok Song - Gin Team

The prizegiving ceremony will be held at 17:00 this evening and there is a farewell banquet starting at 18:30 - pictures will follow...

9th June 2010 - Linzhou, China - Animations Update [09:50]

There have been some minor technical issues with regard to moving some of the data we use during this event - this has meant that the task animations have taken a bit longer to produce than normal. They are all done now and can be accessed from the links at the top of the page - or HERE

9th June 2010 - Linzhou, China - Day 7 - Morning [09:10]

The final day is here and we are hoping to fly today. The weather is not the best we have seen but still looks promising so the busses are loaded and on their way to take-off.

As soon as we hear from the launch there will be more details here.

Philippe has been busy processing some of the video footage he has taken in the last few days - here are the latest two installments...

8th June 2010 - Linzhou, China - Day 6 - Task 3 - Won by Alex Hofer in a time of 3:05:04

The results are out - winning today's task as the only pilot in goal with a time of 3 hours 5 minutes 4 seconds is Alex Hofer (Switzerland / XAlps).

First woman today with a distance of 11.49km is Caroline Brille (France / Advance)

And our winning team today is Arnaud Secher, Denis Cortella, Olivier Michielsen and Orlane Sturbois - Kortel Design

8th July 2010 - Linzhou, China - Day 6 - Task 3 - Track Confirmed - Alex Hofer wins the task !

Alex has just arrived at HQ and downloaded his track log - it is confirmed - he made it to goal and won the task.

8th July 2010 - Linzhou, China - Day 6 - Task 3 - 1 pilot in Goal !!!!

What an amazing race - most of the field have landed around the same area but we heard of 1 pilot still flying.

We have all the other pilots back and most have downloaded their GPSs but we have just received news from the goal field.

Alex Hofer (Pilot 1130) has just arrived in goal !

We are now waiting for Alex to arrive to confirm his track.

There is a party tonight, hosted by Gin and Kortel Design- details below !
